blog post with 10 festivals to enter indie games

http://www.gamecareerguide.com/features/476/10_indie_student_game_.php

Many of them are open to student entries too - starts with the biggie the Independent Game Festival held in conjunction with the Game Developers Conference - 12 of the top winners get some money to help cover the cost of coming to the conference to present their games and get their awards

Like the game jams - this would be a way to help connect students to the bigger game making world. we should play the games from past winners - that would give the students something to use as a bar for the quality of their games too I think.

I found the link about the festivals off of this blog - http://www.indiegames.com/blog/ - about all kinds of indie games - lots make in flash, some made in game maker and ported to flash - again good role models, things to riff off of for ideas and look and feel - - and maybe ideas about people to contact to be speakers, judges, mentors, internships…
