The dept voted on it and it passed sort of - no one actively voted against it so we’re going with a unanimous (on paper) decision
Still didn’t get the level of info I wanted from the powers that be about resources - finally realized it’s not something I can control. I’ll just go ahead with the paperwork. I get to teach one class in the fall - the freshman intro to games and society -Â and i get to go to GDC and I’m teaching game design now. So in the short term, things are good.
But - - and in my mind it’s a big but - a program like this can’t work with only one prof in my dept, and it can’t work without cooperating with other depts (like with a minor and seats in our classes for their students) - cooperation has to go both ways (or in this case, several ways).
