have game leaders – people who will teach the other students a particular game. Have a group of game leaders for each group – each game leader then teaches the game to another group – the game leader group could write up instructions, give a little history of the game
They have to get together outside of class to learn the game, maybe test teaching it to some of their friends, then we play in class and they teach it – need some space to spread out on those days….
need a game list – historic, other cultures, out of the ordinary – non-electronic – Senet, Settlers of Cataan, tic tac toe, hop scotch, hangman, chutes & ladders
videogames – WoW and/or Eve Online (I think there’s a free trial of each of htem& can play Runescape, AdventureQuest & KartRacer for free (there’s a pay version to get additional content but lots of stuff in the free level) and PuzzlePirates and hopefully worlds from Metaplace, The Sims, Sim City, Shadow of the Colossus, Halo
classic videogames – adventure and Zork and other interactive fiction, tetris, pong, ms pac man – there’s a “console” called the Atari Flashback2 – some on sale at amazon used for about 30 to 40 dollars – lots of old games – worth buying some?
