Trying to think of all the ways we could market hte new program except I don’t know what costs to put on the sheet - do i have to put postage (how much is bulk, do schools get a discount), do i pay for printing and do i have to find a printer - stuff I need to track down next week I guess. But the basic plan (sans lots of dollar figures) is off to the dept chair for comments and additions. Thought of mailing lists and special events during regular prospective freshmen open house, targeting girls high schools and AP computer science classes and schools with videogame clubs. Argh. They said to think broadly. Probably can’t do it all at first, but i have url’s to track stuff down later if needed.
And the minor paperwork is off to the chair too for comments - 20 hours, all the non programming classes and the sophomore 2 semester sequence.
Still miffed that the guy from my dept on the school curriculum committee talked about how it shouldn’t be in the tvr dept - not the thing to say outside of hte dept. We can have those discussions in the dept, and the idea of having a separate 3 letter designation for it is a good idea, but not moving it out of the dept.
