students at many of the programs represented wanted more higher level classes
lots of students want to do games but program as to be really good and focused for htem to have any chance of getting jobs – - there aren’t enough jobs for everyone who things they want to be in games, don’t want to get stuck in QA forever
most programs see big drop off in enrollment between year 1 & 2, programming is hard, industry isn’t what they expected
game program has skills that are good in lots of industries – so even if game industry isn’t what htey expected – still places for them to ue their skills – lots of companies want interactive web sutt
try to get industry for real world clients for programs – some schools ask industry to sponsor (for a fee) or to sponsor a prize in a game compeition in exchange for getting a game
iportant to put student projects up on the web for potential industry contacts
gotta do more C++ lss java, flash, incorporate game develop all 4 years in the program
make connections with game companites to bring game development industry connections to the students
SCAD has an EA lab where student work on readl EA projects and if EA likes them they pay the students
