here’s a video of andy griffith telling about the first time he went to a football game – he didn’t know what was going on so he interpreted it in terms his character understood – it’s an example of why we shluldn’t assume things unknown to us aren what they seem if we don’t know about the culture, how we should check with other people about our observations to triangulate – understanding culture is tough and you can’t just think you’ve got it after one incident or one observation, listen to this early in the semester after we’re]]ve discussed understanding culture and triangulation
